This week is our first round of CPAs (Checkpoint Assessments = benchmark tests)! Students are well-prepared and I know they will be very successful as long as they put forth their best effort and use the strategies that we've been working on all quarter. These tests will not be counted towards their overall grade for the quarter. Rather, we use this data to assess students' areas of strengths and weaknesses and remediate/enrich as needed. CPA scores will come home with the report card on 11/19.
Due to CPA testing, we will not have spelling again this week. We will resume with word study next week. =)
Our class tests from 1:30 - about 3:30 on Tuesday (math) and on Thursday and Friday (reading). Please avoid any absences/tardiness this week, as will be reviewing and testing.
In social studies, we'll be learning about and discussing the importance of honoring all veterans for Veterans Day (SOL 3.11c). Remember that we are closed on Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day.
Many thanks to all those who serve our country!
Friday is "Read Your Heart Out Day" at CAES, so students are welcome to wear comfy clothes like sweats, and they can bring a special book and stuffed animal.
