**Please be sure your child brings word study baggies to school each day - we use them in class.

Math:
We've moved on to money (SOL 3.8). Students will have to determine the value of a collection of bills and coins ($5.00 and less), compare money amounts, and make change. There will be a quiz on Friday. Keep practicing math skills on IXL - students often have a hard time when subtracting with regrouping. Please encourage your mathematician to check his/her work by working backwards from their answer, using the inverse operation. A review packet will be coming home next week in preparation for the CPA on 11/10.

Science: (with Mrs. King)
Students are studying food chains and will soon move on to habitats. Stay tuned to agenda for more information/assessment dates.

Social Studies:
We have begun our continents and oceans unit (SOL 3.5). Students have to be able to identify the seven continents and five oceans. They also have to understand the equator and prime meridian and classify the continents and oceans according to the hemispheres. We'll also be studying grid maps. There is a continents and oceans retake quiz on Thursday.
