A couple of reminders for the week:
- Fall Fundraiser begins Tuesday!
- Picture Day for 3rd graders is Thursday.
Here's what we'll be working on this week:
Language Arts:
Reading Strategy: Author's purpose, nonfiction
Skills: main idea, ways to spell long e (ee, ea, e, y)
Grammar: exclamations/questions

Math:
We have moved on to rounding (SOL 3.1b). Students will be able to round numbers 9,999 or less to the nearest ten, hundred, and thousand. There are some anchor charts/notes in the math IN, which is supposed to be brought home daily to assist students with math homework. There will be a rounding quiz on Wednesday. On Thursday, we'll begin comparing numbers (SOL 3.1c).

There will be an adaptations quiz on Tuesday!
Social Studies:
We will continue our unit on rules and laws (SOL 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12) this week. Students will be learning about the importance of government/rules/laws in our community, state, and country. They will also learn about our country's basic principles and rights, along with our diversity and what unites us as Americans. Students should review notes each night and understand the vocabulary. Stay tuned to the agenda for an upcoming quiz.
