*April 3rd- Spring Break begins at dismissal

*April 13th- Return from Spring Break
*April 21st- Kindergarten Information Night- 6:30 in Cafeteria

Here's a glimpse of what we'll be working on this week:

Language Arts:
Story: Flight: The Journey of Charles Lindbergh

Phonics: Vowels -ought, -aught, -ight

Strategy: Making judgments about characters, actions, ideas in a story

Skills:  Sequencing

Grammar: Adverbs

Math:

We'll continue with our measurement unit (SOL 3.9). We will focus on liquid volume/capacity on Monday/Tuesday, review Wednesday/Thursday, and test all measurement skills (length, weight, volume) on Friday. 

Science: (with Mrs. King)

The simple machines test is Tuesday, and then they will begin their exploration of soil. 

Social Studies:

We are going to study another ancient civilization - Mali (3.2), a West African country. We'll revisit Greece and Rome throughout our study by comparing and contrasting them, and have a unit test on Greece, Rome, and Mali next Friday.
