We put our liquid measurement skills to great use today by making ice cream! The kids had a blast!! Many thanks to one of our math volunteers, Mr. Avrit, for all of his assistance with this!
First we gathered to measure take turns measuring our 'liquid' - we measured and mixed cream, sugar, and vanilla...
We had to measure TEN cups of cream!
...1 1/2 tablespoons of vanilla
...a cup of sugar
We whisked it all together so that later each pair of students would work together to do the rest (see chart below)...
They measured 1/2 cup of salt crystals
They added the salt crystals to their ice

Then partners took turns shaking the bag for 10 mins, so they had to use the clock to keep track of the time.
