I hope everyone enjoyed their two days at home, and even a little snow on Tuesday!
We are in the last week of testing for the second quarter, so hang in there! I know I am ready to be back into a regular routine!!
Here's what's in store for this week:
Reading:
Due to testing all week, we are not doing our weekly story or spelling list.
We have Part 1 Reading CPA on Wednesday, and Part 2 on Thursday. Students will have a great review passage to do on Wednesday night that includes a lot of skills we've covered, as well as practice going back to the passage for "evidence" of their answer choices. I always encourage them to highlight their evidence in the text. Just like in math, if they use their strategies, work carefully, and "dig deep", they will be very successful!
Math:
In math this week, we'll be reviewing the math CPA and continue doing a spiral review with our weekly math boards. Next week, we'll begin our fractions unit!
Social Studies:
For social studies, the CPA is Friday. A study guide came home last week and a test will be on Wednesday. This test will be a great indicator of how prepared they are for the CPA, as well as a good gauge of what they have mastered for the second quarter. Next week, we'll kick off Black History month with a study on Rosa Parks and Thurgood Marshall.
Science:
Keep reviewing cycle notes and vocab. for Mrs. King - she's giving a quiz on Thursday.
