Week of 5/9

Many thanks to all who supported the Apex fundraiser! Our class raised over $60 per lap, which is amaaaaazing!! The numbers aren't in for how much CAES earned as a school for a new playground, but I'm sure it's an incredible amount - we have awesome community support!

IMPORTANT DATES/REMINDERS: 

• 5/9: McDonald's Spirit Night
• 5/18: 1:00 dismissal/interims issued
• 5/19: Math SOL Test (one day only)
• 5/24 and 5/25: Reading SOL Test
• 6/10: Field Day
• 6/16 and 6/17: 2:20 Dismissal
• 6/17: Last day of school and 3rd Grade Promotion Ceremony at 9:30 am. More info. coming as it gets closer. 

Here are the skills that we'll be working on this week:

Language Arts:
Reading Strategy/skills: All strategies/skills - keep using Thunks to review for the SOL test on 5/24 and 5/25!

Writing: Friendly letter

Math:

We are in review mode. The SOL test is next Thursday, May 19th! We've been using our Thunks and IXL to review all math concepts. 

Science: (with Mrs. King)

Mrs. King will continue the soil unit (SOL 3.7). Stay tuned to the agenda for more info.!

Social Studies:
We're going to learn about Cesar Chavez and review all Famous Americans and continue to work on our ancient civilizations brochures.
