Here's a glimpse of what we'll be working on this week:
Language Arts:
Story: More Than Anything Else
Phonics: inflected endings -ed and -ing
Strategy: Author's Purpose
Skills:  Fact/opinion/questioning

Math:
We'll be in "review mode" in preparation for the upcoming Checkpoint Assessment (CPA). Skills covered will be fractions, patterns, measurement, and graphing. There will be a packet coming home, along with review material throughout the week. IXL is another great way to review. There are usually a few questions about previously-taught concepts such as rounding, place value, money, etc.

Science: (with Mrs. King)
Stay tuned to the agenda for what's coming up in Science this week!

Social Studies:
We've wrapped up our unit on the Ancient Civilizations, but will have a 'review day' with "Ancient Civilizations Day" this Friday. This is a fun learning experience for the children, where they get to rotate to each third grade teacher, doing an activity from each civilization. There will also be a special lunch provided by our cafeteria, which includes foods from these civilizations. It is very good and students always enjoy it! There is no cost for the fun of this day. We'll begin our economics unit (SOLs 3.7-3.9) on Monday!
